On a major Sydney data centre project, a hybrid power solution combining a BESS, Container-Mounted Solar Platforms, and diesel generation delivered reliable 24/7 site power while significantly reducing fuel use and emissions.

The solution supported site offices, amenities and additional site compounds, helping reduce scheduled servicing from 19 services to just 3 over the course of the project.

A home away from home for a major construction company: that's what the United Rentals’ team in Christchurch has designed and installed on a major site in South Canterbury.

With a major construction project underway for more than two years, the customer required a worksite solution to accommodate its large workforce.

A functional solution was key to ensure the site runs smoothly, but just as important was a covered, open-plan space at its centre, big enough for everything from morning Toolbox meetings to crew barbecues.

Made up of 15 containers, including offices, lunchrooms, ablution facilities, and storage containers, the worksite is covered by a large shelter to provide protection from the elements.

Business Development Manager Tim Harris says the advantage of the set-up is its scalability to meet requirements as the project evolves.

“The beauty of containers is they can be single- or multi-storey with additional units able to be added to increase capacity.

“They’re versatile and comfortable, and the team on site enjoys the indoor, outdoor flow. As the customer said, the only thing stopping United Rentals from creating your ideal worksite solution is your imagination.”

Uros the kiwi is in the wild. The adorable, now not so small kiwi chick sponsored by United Rentals has been released into remote Maungataniwha Forest in northern Hawkes Bay.

Our friends and community partner Save the Kiwi NZ said from the moment Uros pushed and poked his way into the world, he stood out as a real superstar.

Before release, he completed his moult, meaning he was sporting an especially thick and impressive set of feathers and fully prepared for life back in the wild.
