I have been a little bit lost for words today to figure out how to make this announcement. So maybe its best I just keep it as short as possible.

After much thought, we've decided it's time to hand over the reins of Taylor Lodge to someone new and begin our next family adventure.

Taylor Lodge is officially on the market (and yes it includes the Managers house)

Looking at these photos (and the cool little video) I am immensely proud of all the work that we have been able to do around the place over the past 7 years. Thank you to friends and family that helped us with that final push as couple of weeks back.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past seven years. We've loved welcoming your families, groups, and adventures through our doors, and we're excited to see what the next chapter brings for Taylor Lodge.

The calendar is still open, and we are business as usual.
So if you haven't got in for Winter 2026 yet, then get in quick, as there is very limited spots available. And the July school holidays are already fully booked.

Vegetarians turn away, This one's for the meat lovers.
Did you know we can cater?
Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner (with desert) can all be sorted for you. This group is on their 3rd visit, and I hear one teacher really wanted to come again for the food.

It's been about 30 years since I've been in a glowworm cave, and while my camera doesn't show it, this place did not disappoint!
I'm not a fan of the underground, but this place felt so calming and magical.

We feed giant eels, got educated on the lifestyle of a glowworm close up, visited limestone caves with tomos and even saw some Moa bones.
All the kids loved it, even the toddler was able to walk all the bits.

Bookings are a must as Tour groups are small.

Trying to walk the silly out of the kids.
Found a fishy, played hide n seek on the downhill side, plenty of ice cream bribes.

Come for a training run with me along the cycle trail.
Today its just a 10km.
Was hoping to stumble across some deer, but not today. Plenty of evidence that they were around earlier.
Just under 2 weeks to go before race day.

I've always told people you can "bike to the pub" from our place, and thats exactly what we did.

Te Hangaruru and Old Coach Road all rolled into one.
Approximately 26kms. And took us just under 2hrs with snack breaks on the way.
There is new stone down on the Old Coach Road too, so its a bit kinder on the butt.

Big kids on their own bikes, and we took the younger ones on e-bikes thanks to Max at .
No way was i going to lug an extra 20kgs on the uphill without a e-bike!
