What a difference a day makes. After a whirlwind of unpacking boxes yesterday morning to hosting our first guests in the evening. Spectacular 😄

Sandie and I spent a lovely afternoon on Saturday at Johner Winery choosing wine for our guests. Kat was delightful and I thoroughly recommend a visit.

well - this was the last weekend of hosting for us. 2 weeks to clear up and pack and then we hand over to Sandie and Nigel. Our first guests stayed in November 2009, shortly after we finished building. Over the years we have developed the gardens, cooked lots of breakfasts, made lots of beds and met many fabulous people. So many memories! However, our new adventure awaits and the new Summit Lodge owners will continue the legacy! If anyone wants accommodation for Wings Over Wairarapa, Sandie and Nigel are taking bookings!

So.....exciting news! Jim and I are moving on and leaving the Summit Lodge with new owners. We understand they are super-excited to be taking the lodge on and we will be introducing them soon! Having created the lodge, gardens and the business from scratch we have had a blast. So many memories and fabulous guests over the years, as well as the satisfaction of having created the place. Just goes to show what is possible when you have a dream!

Next step for us is a move to Canterbury where Tracey will be extending her coaching and hypnotherapy business, Jim will continue with his current job as well as spend more time on the golf course! A different way of continuing to live our values. Down-sizing slightly to 1 hectare of land but still plenty of scope with our new garden! Onwards and upwards!

To all our past guests, it has been a joy and thank you for all the memories you have helped create.
