A couple of photos from our ‘Wild Hatters’ wilderness lunch today. Grace’s red curry creations (one duck and one chicken) - charred apricots, fresh chilli, pineapple, date and prune - some other dishes too - it was truly delicious! Our client group sat around a little campfire beside a stream chatting after their lunch, roasting marshmallows, laughing - they didn’t want to leave and nor did we.

A few snippets from our most recent ‘Waking Forest’ adventure. Alicia (the most amazing mum ever) organised an adventure in the mountains for the whole family as one heart. Her highest hope for this already wonderful unit included that they might fly to NZ Southern Alps for a family adventure to remember, far from the madding crowds. They are all busy, like all of us, and isn’t quality acoustic time together so precious in our electric lives.. Not a device in sight, no meetings, no sporting commitments, no study lock-ins, no household chores, no bickering - just wild love and delicious contact. Mission accomplished mum, well done, and thank you for choosing to adventure with us.

While we are all really looking forward to the long sun shiny days that are well on their way - I have to say that the winters out here are truly something special. This dad+daught’ combo created a bit of quality time for themselves again with us - this time in the snow.

The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp, private guided adventures for small groups with normal everyday fitness and no previous experience - in our wild back yard - every day of the year - snow and no snow - on the mountains - in the forest - by the river - far from the madding crowds - ‘one of one’ experiences every time - bucket list stuff - adventures that plan themselves.

Meet Melina. Superstar. Trained by Liz (Base Camp Kitchen) to be one of our cook/hosts on our small private adventure glamp-camps. Melina is also point for rigging the glamps ahead of everyone’s arrival. Always smiling.

Nice pic Nick! This is from one of our winter adventure glamp-camps. If you look carefully you will see the waiting camp all set and ready for this troupe’s arrival. The drinks are nice and cool, home fires are burning and the cast iron beef cheek massaman is well and truly under way. We call this particular experience’Polar Express’. All of our trips are specially designed for normal everyday fitness and there is no requirement for any previous experience. Each trip has a cook/host, a helper and a professional mountain guide and you mission as much (or as little) as you want. Our locations are far from tourist hotspots - a ‘one of one’ adventure every time.
