Set in historic farmland with magnificent views, the Little House invites you to shake off the shackles of a busy life and unwind in Hawke's Bay's idyllic Tuki Tuki Valley. The property is named after the world famous fishing spot “Horseshoe Bend” in the Tuki Tuki River, which runs through the surrounding farmland. Fiona’s family have farmed this land since the 1800s and she and Aaron moved back h
ere with their two daughters in 2021. They soon felt that their magical spot was too good not to share, and the idea for the Little House germinated. Just before Cyclone Gabrielle, Fiona found the perfect shepherd’s cottage for sale online. It was in ruins, but Fiona could see the potential and Aaron was soon persuaded. Undaunted by the task ahead, they relocated The Little House to this spot in mid 2023. The following twelve months were spent in a labour of love, nurturing her back to life with the help of a hugely talented team of local craftspeople and tradies. Locally sourced, recycled and environmentally friendly materials have been used wherever possible, and many of the decorative items are heirlooms from Fiona’s family. The limestone finish on the walls is the very same material as the rocks you see on the cliff-faces above!
