Another year gone, 2022 was a very mixed box of chocolates indeed. Business wise the Mount View Motel has had its best year ever with no covid lock downs and plenty of contractors needing to do work held up in previous years.
HELP We need housekeeping staff. If you know anyone who is looking for regular part time work we can make the hours suit. Usually 9.00am till 1.00pm but sometimes with night shift workers staying we need an afternoon shift. We pay above the award wage plus the odd bonus when big contracts end and we have had to ask more of our staff than usual.
Here is hoping 2023 has more soft chocolates in the box for us all and if we must have the hard ones, they are not to hard to cope with.

During these uncertain times we would like our guests to know that all of us at Mount View Motel in Hawera are DOUBLE JABBED and we have external servicing procedures in place to ensure your room remains uncontaminated by others entering it without your knowledge. We welcome everyone but would appreciate being notified if you are not Vaxed so extra precautions can be taken by staff. We all have to learn to live with this Virus whilst maintaining our freedom of choice.

We are looking for a furnished house in Hawera area from 23 August to end of September (6 weeks). We will provide all linen, towels etc and the home would be serviced twice a week by our cleaners. Prefer a 4 bedroom if possible but could work with 3 brms. We know these people as they are regular clients. Call us if you have something available 027 240 5579

Smokey is bored waiting for registrations for 8 on a Date... he tried doing the crossword and the suduku to fill in time. Maybe the males in Hawera have missing the same reproductive organs that the Vet took from Smokey.???!!! Come on guys the ladies are registered and waiting for company.... we will have to cancel if the balance of the tables is not right.

#2....

We have all sat in the relative comfort of our lounge rooms watching the turmoil unfold all over the world because of the Corona Virus and its spread followed by the devastation left behind. Before it took hold huge numbers of refugees fleeing to Europe who were trying to escape the oppression they had suffered in their various home lands, were already causing great concern to many of the countries affected. It became blurred where one countries boarder ended and another began but also very hard for those boarders to stay secure.

Here in little old NZ however we watched and thanked God we had an elected democratic government who acted quickly to protect its 5M inhabitants, shutting our boarder to non residence and providing compensation to those who needed it to maintain the standard of living we had pre Covid. It was repeatedly said by ourselves and other around us "thank goodness we live here, thousands of miles from China and Europe, surrounded by the Pacific ocean and where our living conditions allow us to self isolate without too much hardship in doing so.

We all had our theories on where it all began, who was going to find out the truth and what the repercussions would be to them and also what that would mean to all of us living here in what the rest of the world now believed was a Eutopia on Earth.

SO WHAT WENT WRONG..... WHY THE DOOM AND GLUME??

I love it when you log into FB and it greets me with "Christina what is on your mind" and "Create Post"....
Its a sh*tty winter's day outside (farmers glad of the rain).
I attended the opening of a real estate firm in Hawera last week, and the guest speaker said we need to learn how to express our feelings.....well Paul you have unleashed a snoozing giant with feelings that lately have been getting the better of me.

I am going to blame Covid19....why not? everyone else is...

My husband and I are blessed with a lovely home, grand children close bye we can see everyday, and friends that we meet up with for regular dinners and get togethers. The conversations, however are not that cheerful and there is a lot of worry being expressed and I now wonder if we and our friends are all on the same page .....who else out there feels the same and more to the point....what the hell are we going to do about it.????
