Two of our suites have free standing baths overlooking our landscaped grounds and Mount Ruapehu. All suites have private decks, microwave, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities, a frypan and fridge. Our Smart TV's are Internet capable and we have USB charger points in all suites. We provide our guests with a complimentary breakfast tray. A special feature are our shoe warmers which are ideal for drying out wet tramping / hiking boots. You can relax in front of the wood fire in our intimate guest lounge with a good book from our library. Tongariro Suites are ideally located halfway between Turoa and Whakapapa Skifields and a short pleasant 15 min drive from the ski resort town of Ohakune which offers a wide range of dining options, ski and mountain bike hire and enough adventure options for every ability and we are just 400 mtrs from several great mountain bikes trails. We are the ideal base for the world famous Tongariro Crossing and can provide transport to and from the Tongariro Crossing, if needed (conditions apply). Just around the corner is the renowned Erua Forest which is popular with hunters and has an abundance of deer, wild pigs and goats and is home to the spotted Brown Kiwi. Tongariro Suites is discreetly located on a private road away from the main road. Tongariro Suites are committed to the environment. We generate our own power from our solar system, collect our own rain water which is treated through a UV filter system and we process most of our own waste. We use LED llights and have a sensor system in the hall ways to conserve energy. All windows are double glazed to conserve energy and to keep you warm in the winter. The Nightsky Cottage was build in 2019 to provide a very private and luxury accommodation offering in Horopito. Just a few minutes drive from Tongariro Suites. The cottage offers two identical bedrooms with king size beds. The bathroom is luxury plus with two side by side deep soak bath tub, a large walk in shower and two pedestal vanity units. The ethos of the cottage is zero waste, so you will find a lot of sustainable alternative to what is traditionally offered however none of it will impact on the luxury experience we offer. At night sit by the fireplace and listen to kiwis calling from the forest. With a bit of luck you might even see wild deer roaming around the land. Please check out our website
