Murihiku -Southland / Otago snow is here ❄️ If you're heading south, the snow is thick enough to make snow angels - follow these handy tips below

💡 Headlights on dip, not full beam
Full beam bounces off heavy snow, and you’ll see less, not more. It’s also illegal within 200m of other vehicles.
🌫️ Fog lights are your friend
Use them in snow if you’ve got them, but turn them off once visibility improves.
🎒 Pack for a wait. Warm clothes, water, and some snacks in the car can be a lifesaver if you get stuck.
⛽️ Half tank rule. Keep at least half a tank of fuel or battery charge. Detours and delays are common in this weather.
🛑 Stuck? Stay safe
Pull over somewhere safe. Call roadside assistance or a tow company for help.
