"If you have never seen the sun setting through the windows of the Invercargill Water Tower, well, I will not say that you have not lived, but I will say that you have missed a fine sight."

"When I was last in Invercargill over 20 years ago I commented on the modesty of the city motto - the Friendly City. Where, I wondered, was the braggadocio of the usual motto, the marketing, the hyperbole? Had they not heard of Ashburton's “Whatever it takes”? Did they know nothing of the Garden City that was ripping out its gardens by the acre to make way for high-density housing? Did Invercargillites really think honesty mattered and that words had meanings? It seems they did, for the place is still officially the Friendly City.

I asked a woman for directions to the nearest supermarket. She said it was blocks away, but not to worry, she would drive me there."

We are looking for an on call, casual cleaner. Hours of work are between 9:00am to 1:00pm and while it is an on-call position, potential workdays are Monday to Sunday. If you are reliable, have an eye for detail, are not afraid of hard work, can work as part of a small team, are able to follow directions and can provide references to back this up, then we would like to hear from you.
