We are so lucky in Kerikeri to have world-class dining right on our doorstep! 🍷✨

A huge congratulations to the team at Kai Mata Restaurant , crowned Grand Champion in the Savour Northland awards! 🏆

Over the winter, they’ve been hosting a fabulous series of Sunday ‘Long Lunches’—pairing superb local dishes with eclectic wines. The grand finale featured incredible pours from Marlborough’s Vineyards, wrapping up a fantastic season.

For our overseas friends, this weekend we are celebrating Matariki in New Zealand.
The star cluster appears on the night horizon, and is called Pleiades or "Seven Sisters" in other cultures.

It reminds us in mid-winter that another year is dawning. We remember our fondest friends and relatives we've lost, and said goodbye to in the past. We feast and enjoy connections to our families and friends. We look forward to the coming year, and all the new experiences it has to offer.

The week leading up to Waitangi Day (6th Feb) is easily one of our favourite—and busiest!—times of the year in the Bay of Islands. 🌊

There is an incredible energy in the air as the Prime Minister, the Navy, and dignitaries from across Aotearoa arrive. The Treaty Grounds are a total hive of activity preparing for the big day! 🐝

Our personal highlight? Seeing the waka from around the country practising out on the water. We’ve even spotted them training nearby on the Kerikeri Inlet!
