Taigh Na Mara

Taigh Na Mara A Bed and Breakfast located on the Coromandel Peninsula Taigh Na Mara means House By The Sea in Scottish Gaelic, reflecting your host Carol's Scottish heritage.

This modern style B & B
offers accommodation to travellers from all over the world. Located on the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand, Kuaotunu provides a great base for exploring the peninsula and all it has to offer. Taigh Na Mara has two spacious and sunny rooms available to guests. Both are able to sleep up to 3 people and can be adapted as required. The rooms each have their own bathroom, ou

tdoor area, and private entrance from outside. There is a shared lounge with TV and piano and a beautiful spacious garden which guests are welcome to enjoy. A cosy fireplace awaits you in the winter months. The beach is just a very short walk away and offers safe swimming, and beautiful walks on its white sandy shores. Kuaotunu has a village store which provides most essential items, and there is also a great café/restaurant in the village which is only a 5-10 minute walk away. Whitianga is a 20 minute drive away and has plenty of shops, supermarkets, and cafes and restaurants for you to enjoy. Breakfast (either continental or cooked) is included in your stay and Carol is happy to provide other meals for you by arrangement. Picnic hampers and afternoon teas are also an option. Carol loves to cook and is happy to cater to different dietary requirements (and desires!) where possible--just let her know what you'd like. Check out the website for more details and you are welcome to email with any questions. Carol would love to welcome you to Taigh Na Mara and share what she and this very special part of the world has to offer.

Just spent a week at Te Moata near Tairua, helping out in the kitchen during a Silent Retreat. Such a special place. Great opportunity to help with making lots of delicious vegetarian meals, enjoy bush walks, and take the opportunity to “sit” and just be. Perfect way to ready myself for the upcoming busy season
