There’s something pretty special about waking up to snow in Lake Tekapo. ❄️

The mountains turn white, snow settles along the lakefront, and the entire landscape looks even more spectacular than usual. For many of our guests, seeing Lake Tekapo covered in snow is one of the highlights of a winter visit.

Of course, a good snowfall can also bring a few practical questions. Are the roads open? Do you need snow chains? Is it safe to drive? And what is there to do in Lake Tekapo when it snows? ⛄️
