CLOSED 22nd June for approximately 2 weeks while we undergo some earthquake strengthening and very exciting bar renovations.

We won’t be sharing much along the way of the journey as we want it to be a surprise for everyone including our wonderful team.

This time frame is an approximate time, our building is nearly 100 years old and sometimes we might come across some hurdles, but we will endeavour to be open as quickly as possible.

We will still be available accommodation throughout this time.

To say we are excited is an understatement 💗👌

They swapped the bright lights of Townsville on the coast of Queensland, Australia, for a country pub in Makikihi in 2018. Despite having no hospitality experience - they took out the inaugural South Island Country Pub of the Year in 2025. We caught up with Belinda and Dan to find out more.
