With his legendary singalongs and timeless Kiwi anthems that have become part of New Zealand's cultural fabric, Sir Dave's performance is set to be a highlight.

We also welcome on stage The Beatgirls, kicking off the day with their retro glam and feel-good dancefloor hits, while Sweet Mix Kids will bring the festival to a high-energy close with their electric and euphoric set. Throughout the day, DJ Takas Michael John Takarangi will keep the party flowing between performances.

The Milky Way is always up there. Most people just live somewhere too bright to see it. Out here it's a different story. South Wairarapa is an International Dark Sky Reserve — so on a clear night you can see the Milky Way arching overhead right from the Holiday Park. Go for a short drive away from the village lights and it gets even better: out toward Cape Palliser the whole sky comes alive.

🫒🫒🫒It's olive season. We have about ten well established trees at the Park and this year Frank's having a second try at pickling the fruit - this is what he did last year:

Picked on 2 June and changed the pot water daily for a few days, giving them a bit of rough treatment to break the skin. After 5 days he bottled in glass jars of brine (approx a tablespoon of salt for a jam jar of olives). Gave the jars a shake every day and changed the brine every week. After four weeks they went in to the jars with some herbs and brine, covered with a bit of olive oil. They were delicious.🫒🫒🫒

He's just picked this year's olives and is open to recipe suggestions and improvements - tell us what you do!

In summer, Martinborough belongs to everyone. In winter, it belongs to the locals again.
This is the season when there's room at the bar by the fire, the cellar door host has time for a proper chat, and the village moves at its own pace. Stay a couple of nights and you stop feeling like a visitor — walk to the square, fall into the rhythm of the place, and it starts to the Square with the bus stop less than 50 metres from our gate, so it's an easy weekend even without the car.
