Takatu Pinot Gris 2015 – Burgundian style
Picture This!
Aromas reminiscent of a balmy summer breeze casting off from the shallows of the Pacific Ocean, stealing with it the sweetness of salt from the damp wooden jetty. The air is dry and slightly chilly as it whispers over your sun-kissed skin, leaving a slight sting. As the sun descends, the warm golden yellow glow surrenders gracefully to the richness of colours of star anise and caramelised orange peel bleed across the water as dusk falls.
A tropical silky mouthfeel of overly ripe mango dripping down through your hands, balanced by the subtle acidity of ripe pineapple, the moment is enveloped in the memory of this morning’s home-baked vanilla brioche fresh from the stone oven.

Compliments:
To compliment the characteristics and personality of our Pinot Gris 2015, we celebrate the second day of Spring at sundown with pan fried hot paprika prawns, baked coconut cream, caramelised banana, and zest of lemon. Dusted with Wild Rimurimu kelp powder.

Match Making:
The rich baked coconut cream enhances the smokiness of the hot paprika whilst the acidity of the Pinot Gris cuts through the richness allowing the heat of the paprika to linger. Caramelised banana picks up on the tropical fruit notes in the wine and brings out the sweetness of the prawns. The zest of lemon keeps your taste buds on their toes to continue indulging in your experience of match making.

Easy, tasty and a relaxing breakfast, because we have the time 😉
Homemade flatbread (very therapeutic to make), spinach & garden herb omelette, grilled vine tomatoes, grated Parmesan & zest of lemon..... AND if you have it your pantry, drizzle a little Provence Summer Olive Oil from Press to top of your efforts. And if you don't, a drizzle of olive oil, fresh herbs from the garden and a little squeeze of lemon. Delish! Enjoy!
