Even though the gorge is currently closed, you can still easily get to us from New Plymouth 🚗

We’ve got plenty of powered and non-powered sites available, plus a few cabins still up for grabs for ANZAC weekend — get in quick!

Just a friendly reminder: we are dog-friendly on campsites 🐾, but dogs aren’t permitted inside our cabins or units.

Heads up to any of our campers travelling from New Plymouth between 16th January - 20th January

SH3 AHITITI, TARANAKI – CULVERT REPLACEMENTS

Plan ahead for a full ROAD CLOSURE between Okau Rd and Uruti Rd starting 12:00am Friday 16 until 11:59pm Tuesday 20 January for culvert replacement works.

There is no vehicle access through the culvert worksite at any time during the 5-day 24/7 road closure. There are no scheduled opening times.

Only residents, workers and business customers will be given access, where available, from Uruti but not through the culvert worksite. Speak to roadworkers on site at Uruti.

Contractors will also be positioned at Urenui and Piopio to direct any through traffic. Consider using SH4 and SH1 as an alternative route which is suitable for freight and HPMV. Some local roads will be resident access only and these are not suitable alternatives for state highway traffic. Plan ahead and allow for extra time.
