🏡 Love history? This one is a real gem.

If you're planning to enjoy the Winter Art Deco Weekend, why not add this fascinating guided walk to your itinerary?

Step back in time and discover what Napier was like before the 1931 earthquake. Beginning with the story of Mataruahou (Scinde Island), you'll then visit the beautiful Scinde Island House, built in 1867.

Along the way you'll hear stories of Napier's early settlers, see one of the city's oldest homes, and discover how the family living there escaped the devastating 1931 earthquake.

A wonderful experience for anyone who enjoys history, heritage and discovering the stories behind the places we visit.

⏰ Duration: Approximately 1½ hours.
