In lieu of payment for doing laundry for our guests we ask for a donation to ECOED - Environment, Conservation & Outdoor Education. Quietly the generous donations have been accumulating, and we were thrilled to credit their give a little page with $1250.00 at the end of March. We received this lovely message from them. "Kia ora, Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation. We are facing a big shortfall in funding this year, so this donation is very helpful indeed! Ngā mihi". We are so pleased to be able to help our little kiwis.

A modified look for our Titoki Room today as we deal with yet more stains from sunscreen. As the bedspreads are too large for our machines it means a visit to the laundrette on a day that we will be able to line dry. That is not today as it is wet and cool. Last Sunday we were surviving 37 degrees!

Kereru are regular visitors to our garden. This visit enjoying kawakawa catkins. They certainly help spread kawakawa plants throughout the garden and neighbourhood.

After many years of being a feature of the Spring Fling in Central Hawke's Bay we finally made the trip to Taniwha Daffodils Central Hawkes Bay. Such a gorgeous display. How to choose 30 stems? The proceeds are donated to charity. This year the recipients are CHB Parents Centre and CHB Pregnancy and Parenting Hub.

We are thrilled our garden attracts so many birds and that they find food year round however this Kereru would have a better feast if he allowed the fruit to develop but then he/she may realise that there is some thinning required. Whatever there will definitely be fewer plums in Phillip's plum jam this summer.

Having return visitors is very special, so when Rebecca and John stayed here 20 years after spending their wedding night in 2005 we were absolutely delighted. Especially when they wrote " We feel so fortunate to have returned here after 20 years. It was just as special now as it was then...........". It was heartwarming to be part of the start of their lives together and to learn 20 years on some of their journey together which includes a delightful 17-year-old daughter. Congratulations Rebecca and John.
