It's been a busy summer and again the feedback has been amazing. Greatful to those who are traveling NZ and booked as their Ruapehu base, honey mooners, birthday gifts, engagement escapes and kiwis who just want an escape from every day busy life, appreciate you all.

So much of Awa Rere was about nature, I had the vision of not having to drive far off the Highway but on arrival feeling like you were enclosed in your own little santury with lots of bird life.

To do this meant alot of research and planting of natives that birds loved (I'm still adding 😊) and with it all finally starting to take off more and more bird life is finally around.

The building and amenities needed to fit in with nature, earthy green tones amoungst the wooden look whilst ensuring I use natural NZ products where I can, and local Lauren's Lavender bubble bath are a perfect addition.

Tongariro Crossing on your list of NZ walks??

We're the perfect base with several recent guests saying they chose to stay because of the location, right off the Highway, 7 minutes drive from Shuttles to the Crossing and private.

And even better, the Hideaway didn't disappoint, it had everything they needed, a relaxing outdoor bath, comfortable bed and beautiful views.

I'm truly in awe of the feedback coming through, getting to share this spot with people from not only New Zealand but all over the world makes me appreciate home so much more, 5 generations in the area has always been special but even more so now ❤️
