Tokoroa Alpine club was established in 1969 to encourage tramping, mountaineering, climbing, skiing and alpine activities on Mt Ruapehu. W: tokoroa.org.nz

The lodge is located next to the upper Bruce Rd and can comfortably accommodate up to 29 people.

Important WHakapapa 2027 Season Pass Update

Following today’s RMCA AGM, WHL clarified an important point regarding the 2027 Season Pass offers.

October Super Early Bird, Adult $299, Youth $149, Child $99
Buddy Passes are NOT included.

The next Early Bird offer, from 1 November 2026, will include Buddy Passes, but at a higher season pass price.

Something to consider before purchasing your 2027 pass.

Hi Guys this is me having a wee lay down after a great day on the slopes here at tokoroa Alpine club Whakapapa
Problem is I think ive missed my ride home because ive been waiting here for a while and know one has come to pick me up and take me home

Good morning from Whakspapa Wednesday 23rd
Mother nature surprised us this morning with fresh snow around lodge
Whangamata Area school camp are frothing and it looks like once again they will get to experience real Mt life thanks to the Tokoroa Alpine club
My observation is that even with the lack of snow coverage Whakapapa lifts are doing an amasing job working to keep bringing a great snow experience to all its visitors
There are 5 more weekends left this season !
Is it worth visiting ? Absolutely for those who want just a snow experience Happy valley and the gondola ride are worth the ticket price alone !
Then the upper mt is and will be on till the end of the season
I have had two epic days out on the far west tee and the top of the mt is worth a big or small walk rewarding the effort to those who go !

Racing Is On, Weather Permitting!

Calling all speedsters! The Ngauruhoe Trophy Race is scheduled for Saturday 19 September at the Valley T Bar.
The weather forecast is looking challenging, but organisers remain hopeful that a window on Saturday morning will allow the race to proceed. Snow and weather conditions will be assessed, with a final update expected by noon tomorrow.

Organised by Ngauruhoe Ski Club, the race features teams of four or five, including at least one female racer. The four fastest individual times from each team will count towards the overall result.
Categories include Junior, under 19, Senior or Open, and Masters, over 40. Racing is scheduled to begin at 10.00am, with entries available on Friday afternoon or on race day.

There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including a Whakapapa Season Pass, Mons Royale gear, Black Crows poles and LAB merchandise.
Whatever the weather brings, the celebrations will continue. DJ Dylan Brown will be in the house for the after party, with Scapegrace drinks and Jägermeister available to enjoy responsibly. Dress up is encouraged!

Entry fees are $160 for a team of five, $140 for a team of four, or $50 for an individual. Custodians can enter free.

The Rangatira Retro is on Saturday 5 September.

If the snow isn’t quite playing ball for the fully groomed dual slalom they originally planned, Rangatira Alpine Sports Club will work with Whakapapa on the best alternative. It could be a banked slalom or something similar that gives everyone a chance to get involved. Format and location will be confirmed by the middle of next week.

Whatever the course looks like, the day is all about getting the clubs together, dressing up and having a great time on the maunga.

From 3.30pm, we head to LBC for prizegiving before rolling into a sunset party with a DJ and drink specials.

Thanks to Snowverb, HEAD and TCB, we’ve got a huge prize pool of jackets, pants, hoodies, goggles, gloves and heaps more. You definitely don’t need to be the fastest to win either - they have prizes for Best Dressed, Best Club Crew, Looked the Fastest, Crowd Favourite, and Junior Stoke.

Tokoroa Alpine Club - New Lodge Workstations Notice

WORK FROM THE MOUNTAIN AT TOKOROA ALPINE CLUB

We’re excited to introduce two new purpose built workstations at the TAC Lodge, giving members greater flexibility to enjoy a midweek stay while remaining connected with work when needed.

The workstations are positioned away from the main living area, providing a comfortable and practical workspace without interrupting the flow and enjoyment of the lodge.

To use a workstation:

• Bring your own laptop with a USB C connection
• Plug in to connect to the screens, keyboard, docking station and power
• Bring your own mouse or use your laptop mouse
• Use your own internet connection, either through a mobile hotspot or a laptop with built in mobile connectivity

No computers or internet are provided by TAC.

The workstations are intended for adult work use only.
They are not for children, gaming or general entertainment. We remain committed to our club culture of children interacting, exploring and enjoying the mountain environment.

We encourage members to try the new setup and see whether it helps make a midweek lodge stay possible.

A huge thank you to UNLIMIT and the Hartley Smith family for generously donating the chairs, desks, screens, stands, keyboards, docking stations and associated equipment.

We hope this fantastic addition helps more members enjoy extra time at the lodge and on the mountain.
