Riverside Hostel is an eco-friendly space in the middle of New Zealand's oldest intentional community and offers affordable accommodation throughout the year for travelers of all ages. Close to Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, the hostel is a quiet, alcohol and smoke free*, backpackers in Riverside's village-like setting with Tasman's Great Taste Cycle Trail and many beautiful beaches, v

alleys and rivers nearby. Riverside Community itself is a gem to explore and discover. Plenty of short walks, an art gallery, bonsai collection, a rich historic background and volunteering opportunities may well invite you to stay a little longer than initially planned (that happens all the time here). If you are after a relaxing welllness break, there is the possibilty to participate in yoga, tai-chi and other recreational classes which are offered weekly in the neighbouring Riverside Cultural Centre. Workshops on Cheese Making, Fermentation and on plenty more as well as events on permaculture, herbal knowledge are often just around the corner, and it pays to check out our ‘Happenings’ page on our website www.riverside.org.nz. At the hostel, you can choose between fully-furnished Single Bedrooms ($30/night or $175/week) or Twin Bedrooms ($60/night for two people). All have access to free wifi, a shared kitchen, common lounge area and shared bathroom facilities with washing machine. A pleasant outside kitchen, seating and lawn area make the space a cozy spot to read a book or engage with other hostel guests. There is also plenty of parking space for your car or van.
