We currently have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our team.
We are looking for a Receptionist with excellent communication skills, strong computer abilities, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task . This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and outgoing individual.
Duties will include:
* Meeting and greeting guests and providing a polished first point of contact
* Assisting guests with any enquiries they may have
* Collating guest accounts and balancing daily audits
* Answering telephones and general guest correspondence
* Day to day tasks associated with room reservations
* Administration tasks to ensure the smooth running of the front office department, and in support to other departments
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous experience in Front Office and Reservations/Bookings
* A passion for service delivery and the Hospitality Industry
* Knowledge of reservation systems - Knowledge in GuestCentrix is an advantage
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
* A high level of attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
* A professional approach and Immaculate presentation
This is a part time position at present, but a possible development to a full time position is likely. We would requires that you have a flexible attitude to hours of work and weekend shifts.
(Please note Morning shifts can start as early as 6:00am and Late Shifts can finish as late as 11:00pm)

We are looking for a Night Porter to work in the evenings, being the point of contact for all guests enquiries at late hours and ensuring the security and policies are maintained.

Duties will include:
* Check-ins of late guests and Check outs of early departures
* Monitoring of complex, and dealing with noise control and security matters
* Health & Safety, First Aid & Complex evacuation

Answering telephones and general guest enquiries
* Cleaning of common areas and other cleaning duties

Previous experience in a similar position is an advantage.

Hours are from from 10.30pm to 6.30am.

Breakfast Chef
Flames on Forty Restaurant and Bar located at The Hotel Nelson is looking for a Breakfast Chef to join their kitchen team.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for good food, enjoys a busy kitchen environment and is a team player. You'll need to have previous kitchen experience, be professional, creative and have a positive attitude along with a sound understanding of a kitchen structure and operation.

This is a solo breakfast chef position, which means you would need to effectively manage your shift to attend the demand of breakfasts and conferencing catering. It is for five morning shifts, normally 6.00am to 11.00am.
Flexibility to finish a couple of hours later on some days may be required, as per business requirements.

A fixed roster can be discussed with the right applicant, as well as extra hours in dinner shifts.

Please note that this is not a short-term position, so preference will be given to people already living in Nelson permanently.
