As part of our centenary celebrations, many of you have been sharing your treasured photos and stories through our website and we absolutely love reading them.
A theme that’s popped up more than once? Childhood memories of collecting bottles around the Park to earn a little pocket money 💰🌞 A simple summer ritual that felt like pure adventure at the time.
Did you have a holiday “side hustle” at Tāhuna? Or is there a special memory you’ve shared with us? We’d love to hear more in the comments.

A huge congratulations to our friends at Cycle Nelson on achieving the Qualmark Gold Sustainable Tourism Business Award. What an incredible and well-deserved achievement! 🚲🌿

We feel very lucky to have the Cycle Nelson team based right here at the Holiday Park, making it easy for our guests to hire a bike, book a shuttle, or join one of their fantastic cycling tours around Nelson Tasman.

We love working alongside a team that cares so deeply about our region, our community and creating more sustainable adventures.

Congrats team, we’re proud to have you here! 💛👏

We've struck Gold! 🥇🚴

We're incredibly proud to share that Cycle Nelson has been awarded the Qualmark Gold Sustainable Tourism Business Award – New Zealand's highest recognition for tourism businesses committed to delivering exceptional visitor experiences while leading the way in sustainability.

This award is about much more than great bike rides.

It's recognition of the way we care for the places we ride, support our local community, invest in our people, and create unforgettable cycling experiences that leave a positive impact on both our visitors and the environment.

Qualmark recognised our commitment to low-emission tourism, Carbon Positive certification, environmental restoration, local partnerships, and providing safe, high-quality adventures throughout the Nelson Tasman region.

A huge thank you to our amazing team, our local partners, and everyone who has chosen to ride with us. This achievement belongs to all of you.

Here's to many more sustainable adventures together 😊🚲🌿

We're so excited to see Playspace Whakatū taking shape! 🐙 We're especially proud to be supporting this incredible iwi-led project (playspace.kopu.nz) by providing accommodation for the talented PB Sculpt Ltd Team while they create the spectacular Eye of Te Wheke a Muturangi. 👀 It's a privilege to play a small part in bringing such a special space for our community to life.

If you've been following our Stories, you'll have already caught a few behind-the-scenes glimpses of the making of the Eye of Te Wheke a Muturangi. Stay tuned, because we'll be sharing more soon as this incredible artwork continues to take shape! 🥳🙌

Some of our team are in Hamilton this week for the Holiday Parks New Zealand annual conference. Always such a great chance to get together with our peers from all over New Zealand, share ideas, and learn New Stuff, while flying the flag for Nelson Tasman.

From paper rounds to public office, Campbell Rollo's connection to Tāhunanui has come full circle.

In the latest story from our Centenary Local Advocate series, Campbell reflects on the community that shaped him, celebrates the people who make Tāhunanui special, and shares his hopes for the future of our favourite seaside suburb.

"I’m proud to call Tāhunanui home.

Reflecting on my time in this community, I know it has so much potential. My journey here has taken me from walking the streets delivering the local newspaper as my first job, to now serving as a local councillor.

Tāhunanui’s greatest strength has always been its people. Whether you’re walking along the beach, enjoying a coffee at one of our fantastic local cafés, sharing stories about the famous Beach Races, or talking about what’s next for our community, there’s a real sense of connection and pride.

Summer is always a special time in Tāahunanui. Our beach becomes a hub for locals enjoying a staycation and visitors experiencing all that our seaside community has to offer. A walk up the Tamaki Steps provides some of the best views in Nelson and a reminder of how fortunate we are to call this place home.

While winter brings a slower pace, our community spirit remains strong. Local sporting clubs such as Tāhuna FC and Marist Rugby continue to bring people together, filling the reserve with activity and reinforcing the strong community feel that makes Tāhunanui unique.

I’m proud to call Tāhunanui home and excited about the years ahead. As we look back with gratitude for all that has shaped our community, we can also look forward with confidence. Tāhunanui is our seaside community, and its future is full of opportunity and potential."
