One of our favourite little details inside the house in Quarante is the central terracotta staircase.

This makes every trip upstairs feel slightly cinematic.
Worn curves, timber and tiles. Small details you notice on each ascension.

We found a ferronnier in the village - to add a hand rail.

This is the sitting room at Maison and Village Quarante. Cosy and lived in. The desk and lamp were inherited with the house. The ceramics came from dealers at the Pézenas antiques market — twice a year it spills onto the streets of the old town; beyond bliss.
Everything else is still being found.
