Our neighbours are holding their annual Fossil Creek Bull Sale tomorrow and, as always, there'll be some outstanding bulls on offer, good food, plenty of laughs, and enough catching up to last well into the evening.

So if you're heading along and fancy enjoying the social side of the evening without worrying about the drive home afterwards, we've still got availability at the Little Red School House for tomorrow night.

Greg goes overseas for 10 days and somehow Nic “accidentally” ends up with another pet… this time one that comes with a daily milking schedule 🐄😂

Cow 314 is now affectionatly known as Mindy and is providing fresh milk, cream and homemade butter.

She has already become best friends with Dandy our other pet cow.

Welcome to the Steampunk NZ Festival held yearly in Oamaru, New Zealand, over King's Birthday weekend.

Friday!!! 5.30pm The Festival officially begins with the Gate Opening Ceremony at 5.30pm. Then get your lights on and join us in Harbour Street for lights, steam engines, food and music. 10 piece band Soul Deep will keep you dancing, have a go at Tea Pot Racing and Steampunk games and activities. Parade vehicles on display, the Festival High Command Centre is open for information, merchandise and meeting friends and keep your ears open for Steampunk Radio FM107 - The Sound of Steam. At 8pm join us at the Southern Saloon where our traditional Vaudeville show meets fun Wild West Casino. No real money required - play all night with funny money - never run out! Great prize for one grand winner. R18

Recently we held a famil for our Golden Gully Farm Tours with a great group of local tourism operators coming along to see what we offer here on the farm 🚜🐑

The goal was to help build local connections and encourage visitors to stay longer in the Waitaki region by showcasing the different experiences available locally.

It was a fun few hours meeting new people, making connections and supporting local tourism together.

During the school holidays we packed our bags and headed off on a family adventure exploring more of beautiful New Zealand 🇳🇿

First stop was Kaikōura where we had the incredible experience of swimming with dolphins out in the ocean - absolutely unforgettable! Although… safe to say Nic is officially NEVER allowed on a boat in the open ocean again 🤢😂 Even highly medicated with sea leg tablets, the ocean still won that battle!

From there we spent several days hiking sections of the stunning Abel Tasman National Park. Golden beaches, crystal clear water, the smell of native forest, birdsong and sunshine - it truly filled our souls. There is something incredibly grounding about slowing down, walking through nature and swimming in those beautiful bays along the way 🌿☀️
On our way back south we finished the trip with a stop at Hanmer Springs for a long soak in the thermal hot pools which was absolute bliss after all the hiking.

Sometimes stepping away from the farm for a little while reminds you just how lucky we are to live in such an amazing country and how important it is to make time to relax, recharge and create memories together ❤️
