Gumtree Farmstay, Oamaru Your hosts Jennie, Grant & family, look forward to meeting you. We farm beef cattle and sheep on 850 acres near Oamaru.

We farm beef cattle and a small flock of sheep, and from late August to early October we rear calves (and orphaned lambs). Our property is home to heritage breed free ranging chickens & ducks, working dogs, Tansy and Prim our house cats, pet sheep and alpaca and pigs. Enjoy the many attractions that Oamaru has to offer.

It’s been a challenging week for some areas in New Zealand with huge rainfall, flooding, snow (thankfully not here but the Kakanui Ranges look spectacular covered in snow) and a State of Emergency declared in places (Oamaru was one). On the farm we’ve had our fair share of rain and now mud. Thankfully the sun has been shining and life is almost back to normal.
