Hidden Gems Along the Te Hangaruru Trail (Part2)

As we made our way along the Te Hangaruru Trail, we came across something we weren't expecting, a man made waterfall hidden among the surrounding bush.

Not far away, an impressive bridge crosses the Mangaturuturu River, offering a cool view of the river’s curves approaching the bridge and then flowing away into the forest again.

It's little discoveries like these that make exploring beyond the well known routes so rewarding.

Hidden gems along the Te Hangaruru Trail.

Most visitors explore the Old Coach Road Trail between Ohakune and Horopito, but beyond that, the landscape changes subtly to a more forested and less known spaces like Te Hangaruru Trail.

Peaceful wetlands, native bush and quiet trail make this a beautiful place to explore beyond the well known routes in the Ruapehu region.
