Considering cycling the Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail Northland, or having a good old look around the Mid-north, (a stop-over in Okaihau would allow this) lots to see, cruises on the Bay of Islands, are many and in various styles to select from, but there's one on the Hokianga Harbours upper reaches, that is on the MV Ranui is well worth shot too.
Or allow time for the nostalgia of Waitangi Treaty Grounds or Waimate North Mission Station as well as the Pioneer Village in Kaikohe & while that way, the incredible Ngawha Hot Pool complex to help the relaxation, and or take the Pukete Forest walk to view the amazing stands of Kauri, lots to do and see so book your stay at Pigeons Rest!

Have checked out our fantastic Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail Northland, if not we have great place to stay and park in Okaihau, (which has great shopping opportunities}, positioned centrally in the Far North to both coasts with fantastic beachs and historical sites whilst relaxing from a "Great Ride".

With two Public Holidays looming, Auckland Anniversary Weekend & Waitangi Day, there maybe a chance to visit the Far North and share the nostalgia, and stay in Okaihau at Pigeons Rest.
Easy access to both East and West Coasts and on the Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail Northland at the highest point.

What about a stopover in Okaihau? Especially now that SH 1 to the Far North is open over the Mangamuka Range, Handy to Bay of Explore - Bay of Islands & Hokianga Harbour for a vast range of Nautical Experiences (Cruise on the Ranui), or the Historical Sites like Waitangi Treaty Grounds, Kupe's Landing at Omapere, The Stone Store Kerikeri, Te Waimate North, Mangungu Mission Stations & Pompeller's Landing, Kauri Forest Walks at Waipoua, Puketi & Omahuta, not forgetting we are at the highest point on the Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail Northland too, will help to keep up your fitness, we are open, plus plenty of room Motorhomes & Caravans.
Plus please be safe on our Roads & have a Happy New Year!

Not only do we offer a lovely Bed and Breakfast in our very roomy Caravan we also have oodles parking for Motorhomes and Caravans with plenty space to turn and park, but thats not all, we are right on the Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail Northland in Okaihau (the Highest Point), the options are to cycle Horeke or to Opua, East or West,
While in Okaihau, you may have a chance to checkout the shopping options, being the Okaihau Village Butchery, Settlers Way Country Store, Kiwi Kai, Sapphire Cafe, a Food Market and Liquor Store.
Lots of Historical stuff and Hot Pools to check out from this too.
With State Highway 1 to be open to Kaitaia & North prior to Christmas will be a great option, we look forward to seeing you.

Now the Kowhai is all 'yellow' & the orchards blossoming, looks like Spring is here, at last!
And! the Brynderwyn is open but go easy on it, looking forward to your booking & a chance you can visit some of the amazing locations in close proximity to Pigeons Rest in Okaihau, see you soon.

Now with SH1 open at Brynderwyn has improved access to the north at last, Okaihau's located in close proximity to the Bay of Islands and Hokianga Harbour, bring your bikes, Motorhome Parking, cycle the Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail Northland, or walk the Puketi Kauri Forest, the shopping experience, Settlers Way Country Store, Okaihau Village Butchery (sausages galore), Kiwi Kai, Cafe and more. You have got to see it!
