Ever wondered how our weekly rituals started?

Neither did we, but we wrote about it anyway.

Tacos, wings, dumplings, Spin & Win, Super Sundays, Saturdays with no plan whatsoever, and the good buggers who make the pub what it is.

It’s not really about the specials.

It’s about having a reason to get together, talk nonsense, eat well, drink cold things and pretend Monday isn’t waiting in the bushes.

Have a read. It’s basically local history, just with more exaggeration and better snacks.

🚨 WINGS WEDNESDAY HAS ENTERED THE CHAT

Tonight from 5pm to 8pm, we’re serving up $1 full wings so good they should probably come with a warning label and a wet wipe the size of a beach towel.

Big wings. Big flavour. Tiny price.
Your dignity? Optional. Your appetite? Required.

And because apparently we enjoy watching people get emotionally attached to a spinning wheel, the Spin & Win jackpot is now sitting at $180!

That’s right. One lucky legend in the pub between 6pm and 7pm gets picked to spin the wheel and maybe walk away with the jackpot, points, prizes, dessert, merch, or the crushing life lesson of “sorry, you got nothing.”

Character building, really.

So here’s tonight’s plan:

1. Turn up.
2. Eat wings like nobody from HR is watching.
3. Check in on the app.
4. Be here for the draw.
5. Spin the wheel.
6. Either become $180 richer or pretend you “only came for the wings anyway.”

Wild July is back, and the kitchen team have clearly been left unsupervised.

They’ve gone full send on a 4-course wild feast loaded with big Kiwi flavours, proper winter comfort, and the kind of dishes that make you sit up straight and say, “Righto, someone’s showing off.”
