This is one of our guest groups staying here this weekend. If you love quilting, and want some more fabric and supplies - whether you NEED any more or not 🤣 - pop in to Amiee's pop-up shop on Friday 11th or Saturday 12th April, here at Masters Hall in Pahiatua. If you come in the main entrance off State Highway 2, follow "The Event is Here" signs through to the back car park. Or, if you come in through the back entrance off Regent Street, just come in the gate, go straight ahead to the front porch at the main entrance, and you're there!
And welcome to all the ladies in Amiee's quilting group. It is great to have you back!

We are all geared up for a weekend of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Polish children arriving in Pahiatua, after they were evacuated from Europe in 1944. 733 children and 105 caregivers were moved into a refugee camp just outside town, where they lived, attended school, and were welcomed by the local Kiwis. We are fully booked for this weekend, and the journalists who have flown in from Poland have just arrived and checked in. The official activities start tomorrow and continue on Saturday, including a breakfast here that the Lions Club is catering for over 100 people. The shops and businesses in town are all decorated with bunting, flags and Polish memorabilia, and it will be a big celebration welcoming the Polish families back home to Pahiatua. It will be an exciting and emotional celebration and remembrance for some of the original children, who are attending with their own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We are excited to have you all here ... Witaj w domu!

During the big storm we had last week, we had a lightning strike that blew out all the power to our buildings, as well as the motor on our commercial boiler - so we had no hot water for half of the property either. We were offline, off-grid, and felt like the early settlers of yesteryear! I decided I'm NOT the pioneering type!
Crazy times! Fortunately, the emergency repairs were done quickly, and we are up and running again, and back to normal! Many thanks to our local repair guys Managh Electrical and Peach Plumbing, and also to Tubmans who drove all the way up from Wellington to do the emergency repairs on the boiler. And cheers to AON Insurance for stepping up, and making the claim process easy.
Life is looking great again :)
This photo looks exactly like what happened to the pole in our field, but it not the actual photo of the lightning strike.

Happy anniversary to us!🎉🎈💖
We took over this business 6 years ago this week - and it has been an awesome adventure! The ride has been a bit wild too with the covid challenges of the past three years, but moving down here is still one of the best decisions we have ever made. :) Our heartfelt thanks to all of our guests, and suppliers who made made it all possible. Here's to many more years of fun!

28 Dec, 2021:
We were extremely disappointed that for the first time in five years we were unable to open the annual Masters Hall Christmas Wonderland display to the general public and community. Due to the Covid restriction levels, and uncertainty over where levels would be at the end of this year, we had to make the call in November 2021, to cancel our annual display for this year.
It was a tough decision to make, as we had been working on it behind the scenes for most of the year.
HOWEVER ….. the good news is that not only will the displays be back at the end of 2022, but they will be even bigger, and better than previous years.
We are delighted to reveal that we will have a permanent display set up, for next year, taking advantage of some unused areas at Masters Hall. Having a permanent display, means we can work on the display throughout the coming year, without interrupting the day to day business functions with the accommodation side of the business. We will also be able to make the displays more solid, and use more of the previously unseen Christmas items that have been in storage. It will not only be bigger, brighter, and bolder, but will have some fun surprises, and have a little shop onsite, selling Christmas decorations, and festive gifts.
We’re very excited about the displays that we have planned and have been building and working on over the past few months, and we will keep you updated throughout 2022, as we make more progress with the set up, and the creative plans and opportunities we have thought about and designed over the past few months become a reality. We believe the Christmas display opening in December 2022, will be our best exhibit yet!
And as an added bonus, with the display being permanently set in place we will be able to extend our opening hours, to allow the display to be open to the public, and to community groups, for a longer period of time in the lead up to Christmas 2022!

We had another successful Christmas Wonderland display with almost 500 people coming through to look at the displays, with 416 of the 500+ trees we have on hand used this year, and 226 of the 300+ Santas we have, displayed throughout the building. We even had an engagement party booking set amidst the Christmas grottos! Here are a few photos showing about half of the displays. Thanks to everyone for your support. We have some big plans for Christmas 2021 - so watch this space!
Happy new year to you all from Masters Hall!
