Saltwater Lodge is situated just 50 metres from the beach. It is close to café’s, restaurants and bars and is only 5 minutes

walk to the wharf, town centre, shops and bus terminal. All rooms have their own en-suite bathroom, are heated and situated off a large balcony. We have a large comfortable communal lounge, fully-equipped kitchen with free tea, coffee and herbs, guest laundry, internet and wi-fi.

Saltwater Lodge is the only 5-star backpackers, as rated by Qualmark, in Paihia.

Year-round comfort, affordability, and a little bit of luxury make us the accommodation choice of backpackers, travellers, families, and groups from all over the world. We think Saltwater Lodge is perfectly situated being only 50 meters the beach (the closest of all backpackers in Paihia) We are next door to the #1 TripAdvisor café in Paihia so your morning coffee is convenient and guaranteed to be good! We are just out of earshot of the best bars and nightclubs and only 5 minutes walk to the wharf, town centre, shops, and bus terminal. All rooms have their own en-suite bathroom, are heated and situated off a large balcony. We have a large comfortable communal lounge, fully-equipped kitchen with free tea, coffee, and fresh homegrown herbs.
