Kia ora Koutou,
There is some light at the end of the tunnel and brighter days are inching closer. We are about to transition to COVID-19 Alert Level 3 and some of us are about to re-join the workforce, albeit in a different way to which we would ever have imagined. Sadly, there are yet more of us that are not. Kia kaha tatou! Stay strong!
Alert Level 3 kicks in Tuesday 28th April and brings with it some relaxing of restrictions but we all still need to be vigilant, Kia manawanui!
Our bubble at Chancellor Motor Lodge is keeping busy with School (and loving being on glide-time with no strict dress-code), Baking (here today gone tomorrow!), and ensuring our guest rooms are properly prepared. Some extra hygiene processes have been introduced and are now firmly established in our Pandemic Safety Plan. The comfort and peace of mind of guests is always paramount and we are able to welcome essential workers and also others travelling to the Manawatu for work.
And as we reflect on the current COVID-19 conflict our thoughts turn to conflicts of old and of the many sacrifices our forebears endured. In commemorating Anzac Day 2020, each of us will mark 25th April differently, in our own way, and within our own bubble. Separately but together - he iwi kotahi tatou.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them.”
