One of the reasons we chose Pou Architecture to design The Hide Kapiti was their genuine appreciation for family, legacy, and creating places with meaning.

From the very beginning, we felt included in every step of the creative process. Our ideas, values, and vision were listened to and thoughtfully woven into the design, making the journey just as special as the finished result.

Honouring the landscape was always at the heart of our vision. Protecting the native bush, respecting the land, and creating a retreat that sits gently within its surroundings were our highest priorities. We wanted The Hide Kapiti to feel as though it truly belongs here celebrating the beauty of the whenua while providing a place for others to slow down, reconnect, and appreciate everything this special location has to offer.

We are incredibly proud to announce Kapiti’s newest luxury accommodation – The Hide Kapiti.
What started as a career change for me soon became so much more than just a new project. It became a journey of growth, purpose, and a reminder of what truly matters most to our family.
My husband and I were honoured to purchase this special piece of family land and become the next generation of custodians. Nestled in the breathtaking Maungakotukutuku Valley, this little slice of paradise will be cherished by our family for generations. Surrounded by native bush, birdsong, and the beauty of the Kapiti Coast, it holds countless memories and a deep connection to those who came before us.
From the very beginning, our vision was to create something truly special — a place where guests could escape the pace of everyday life, reconnect with nature, and experience the peace, privacy, and beauty that make this land so extraordinary. Every decision, detail, and design choice has been carefully considered to create a luxury retreat that feels both indulgent and deeply connected to its surroundings. Today, we are thrilled to finally open our doors and share this beautiful place with others. We can’t wait to welcome guests to experience the tranquillity, luxury, and magic of The Hide Kapiti and create memories of their own in a place that means so much to our family.
