Tai Haruru Lodge - Piha

Tai Haruru Lodge - Piha Tai Haruru is run by a small group of volunteers from Waitakere Forest & Bird. It's set in a large sheltered native garden, a stones throw from Piha beach.

Staying at Tai Haruru Lodge provides people with the opportunity to explore Piha beach, nearby bush, tracks and part of the Hillary Trail. The main house sleeps up to 6 with a small annex next door, which sleeps up to 4. Each space can be booked (reasonable charges apply) individually or together for larger groups by emailing our booking officer on [email protected]

It’s been a while since the Tai Haruru Lodge sub-committee have managed to get out to Piha for a working bee. Last weekend a group of hardy volunteers spent several hours together. We completed lots of inside and outside chores including hanging new curtains throughout the house and flat 🏠

Tomorrow, Thursday 21st March 7.30pm is your chance to hear from the project organisers of the F&B Waitakere projects, from Ark in the Park New Zealand Habitat te Henga to Harbourview Orangihina Park Predator Control 2050 to Matuku Reserve, Colin-Kerr Taylor Reserve, Kiwi Conservation Club Waitakere, Matuku Link and the Tai Haruru Lodge - Piha
Our AGM is an overview of all these projects, to celebrate achievements and hear about plans for the future. Join us for drinks and nibbles afterwards.

Another successful working bee was held last Saturday at Tai Haruru Lodge - Piha. Members of Waitakere Forest & Bird carried out various chores including garden maintenance and a bit of a spring clean inside the house. We then took time to enjoy each other company over a shared meal 👏
