2026 Waimeha Wild Kai Competition what an incredible night!

With 23 entrées and 20 mains presented to Judge Mark Limacher ONZM, the standard of food was absolutely next level. The passion in the room was something else.

🥇 Entrée Winner — Cray & Veggie Fritters by Robyn Goodman
🥇 Main Winner — Smoked Homeburn Hog with Cuban Mojo Jordy Kunz
👑 Supreme Winner — Cray & Veggie Fritters by Robyn Goodman

Robyn and her fritters were the standout of the night, Judge Limacher summed it up perfectly: "simple food done well will always come up trumps." And he was absolutely right.

A massive thank you to every single entrant who brought their best kai to the table. And a very special shoutout to all the tamariki who competed with such heart and passion, you were amazing ! (Let us know in the comments below...should a Kids Kai competition be on the cards? 👇)

None of it would have happened without the amazing Waimeha staff working behind the scenes, and Carl Webley keeping the energy up on the tunes, and of course all of our incredibly creative competitors 🤩
