Highlights from Chef’s tasting menu inspired by Autumn — rich, warming flavours, designed to be leisurely enjoyed with some of New Zealand’s best wines.

Entrée:
Salt baked beetroot, grilled cos, crispy prosciutto, feta, turmeric oil

Main:
Lumina lamb rump, caramelised cauliflower, baby carrots, smoked garlic jus

Dessert:
Dark chocolate fondant, plum coulis, plum gel, fresh plum, plum powder, Doris plum ice cream

Located just 15 minutes from the Lodge, guests can enjoy a relaxed, guided horse riding experience at Smitty's Ridge Horse Trekking — from scenic trail rides to time spent with friendly horses and a gourmet picnic overlooking native bush! Riders can set their own pace - whether that means a gentle walk, or a bit of fun cantering.

Breakfast, light lunch and dinner - done the Te Karaka way.

Shake off the morning grogginess with a cup of coffee on the deck before our Chefs prepare you breakfast; enjoy a late morning swim in the spa pool before a light lunch, with rolling hills for views; catch the crimson sunset with pre-dinner drinks, whilst relaxing in our egg chairs.

Enjoy breakfast, a light lunch and dinner, inspired by the colours of summer - plated by Chef Adrian.

1. Smashed avocado on toast.

2. Tuna, spinach, coconut carrot purée, charred corn salsa, paprika oil.
