The trees change colour daily in slow motion all around you. Like a time lapse photo, autumn is such a delight! It is truly a season rather than just an event. Let's not get in the way of a good party though!

After walking past the Majestic Remarkable's Ski Building and up across a desolate ski field a reward awaits. At 1800m, Lake Alta, frozen in winter but gleaming in summer is a magical place enclosed in a cone of stone and waterfalls. Very accessible, by foot, to young and more seasoned hikers, it is well worth the experience. The plant life which has been trapped beneath snow for six months and the alpine crickets hopping around are just the start. Allow 2.5 to 3 hours round trip from the Remarkables carpark.

We are so lucky to live in a place where there is next to no rubbish left lying around in our beautiful environment and tagging just isn't part of our daily scene.
Great to see these ozzie boys inventing something fabulous for our lakes and oceans. Hope we never ever need it down here!

The spring season has delivered yet another top up of snow to Coronet Peak with another 6cm on Coronet Peak and 10cm on Remarkables. Wow!! This is the best season I can remember!

While we are up early cooking and delivering breakfasts to guests via Secret Cupboards, Simon Gault and his friends from Audi have a whole different situation happening up at the Snow Farm!

This is the best snow I can remember ever in July. On Saturday, I buzzed across and checked out the 'New Remarkables' skifield. Wow, an amazing base building in addition to the Curvey basin chair makes a massive difference to the whole experience. I headed up the chair and took a photo across to frozen Lake Alta (there were people walking across it).
