We've been a little quiet on the social media front. Like many of you ski bunnies we've been watching the weather forecast closely. While checking out Whakapapa's updates we found this nifty course coming up... A ladies ski development week 🎿🏂🏔🍹🥂 How exciting!

There is also the coolest looking ski or snowboard camp for kids running throughout the next school holidays. Even more exciting!!! So if you're at a loss as to what to do with your delightful minions/sconegrabbers/little angels/boisterous boys/giggling girls then book a space before they sell out. Hint hint it's only 3 weeks until term 3 finishes 😬

***WE'RE HIRING!!!*** After a year and a bit of fulfilling the Custodian role at Snowy Waters, David has decided to move home... and retire. We'll see about the latter. He's not one to sit down for long! 🏃🏻

This does present an opportunity for someone to join our team.

Since Covid we've had to reassess how we fit in the world and who our clients should be. We especially love hosting families, and feel we are well suited to this market given we have so much room for kids to run around! The size of Snowy Waters (14 guest rooms + 6 Cabins) makes us well suited to hosting reunions, retreats, corporate groups and the occasional small wedding 👰🏼

As we've been busy with renovations over the past 12 or so months, we haven't had time to market to these audiences, so the ideal candidate for a newly created position with us will be computer/social media savvy, with a warm and welcoming persona ready to meet and greet guests, and be on call during their stay.

This is an entry level, hands on management position so you will need to be highly self-motivated with the ability to multi-task (picture making beds whilst selling a Murder Mystery party over the phone), and work unsupervised.

You will have excellent customer service skills and diplomacy (imagine politely advising guests how to seperate food scraps from recycling even though you've already explained this in an email and upon check in 🙄)

You will have great attention to detail (we're an 80 year old building so we can never make mutton look like lamb BUT we can go above and beyond with our cleaning to make sure the place is spotless!)

This could be a seasonal role ie; June to October, or longer term... maybe there is someone out there who would like to own this or a similar business but wants to try it out first. Accommodation is onsite in a double cabin with electricity and wifi included.

There is only one paid position, but could suit a live-in couple if your partner is working elsewhere.
