Just a heads up I went to my 6 year old grandsons birthday in Dunedin last weekend and caught COVID on the flight home . this TA Trail Angel is unable to serve pies for a few days ! ie isolating presently Should be clear by Wed. FYI Felt rubbish for 2 days then started ti improve , didnt resort to drugs .

Well , I wasn't notified to attend the awards on Tuesday night , and they inform the other 3 contestants.(They only pick 5 pies) by mail in the next couple of weeks .As I said it is a bit of lottery! Thank you so much for the amazing support you all show , which is why I'm still making pies ! I truly enjoy the personal contact and giving of something that gives pleasure to others . Thank you

So Ive just entered the Bakels NZ National Pie Competition , Ive been placed in the top 10, 4 times previously,There are 99 pies to be judged in my section, they pick 40 and taste 20. So a bit of a lottery. I have made a 'bourgingion fusion' for the 'boutique pie' section . It is spiced rubbed beef cheeks left overnight , then cooked in shiraz with chopped white onions, Worcester sauce and beef stock ,then thickened . On top of that is a mushroom and porcini sauce, which just melts in when cooked ,and then caramelised onion with oil, garlic , butter, fresh chopped thyme from my garden on the top before the top pastry goes on . Its not everyone's 'cup of tea' but if you want a full flavour pie, anticipating the flavours of star anise, juniper berries, cinnamon, and peppercorns that would go well with creamy mashed potato, and a salad , I think you would enjoy this one . They are $12 while stocks last , txt me is best to organise and do pick up or delivery . I also have my normal pork ,chicken, beef cheeks and cheese, you can order what ever you want in quantities of 10 or more , in whatever size you require . (smaller takes the same labour) incl sausage rolls. Just txt .

hello all, I have put up my pie price to $15 each. I have had very positive feed back about this and several customers have said they are still worth . I've been getting 20 and 40 pies being ordered at a time which makes it hard to keep up with my other commitments , They are still big enough to share ! All the Best 😋

Dovi, thank you for leaving us , we were pleased to see you go, we love our place without you .. My freezers are fairly full . I have made more VENISON , red wine , mushroom sauce and caramelised onion, $15. I have the same in BEEF CHEEKS $15,and sorry plain MUTTON SHANKS $15 then
$12 BEEF CHEEKS AND CHEESE, MINCE AND CHEESE,PORK, CHICKEN, MUTTON SHANKS with potato dauphin (potato bake ,cream, garlic, cheese..)still ALL $12 .
