Fixed Term Part Time/ Full Time Position

- Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Manage online and phone reservations in a timely and efficient manner
- Thoroughly understand all room types, rates, packages, promotions and general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and register guests and collect all necessary information
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
Provide information about the hotel and amenities
- Provide information on activities and events in the Marlborough area
- Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Support other team members in handling guest requests and enquiries to ensure a positive outcome is achieved
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees such wedding guests
- Ensure the Manager is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests or other staff
- Upsell additional services and sightseeing, when appropriate
- At all times act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
- Adhere to all health and safety rules for the front office and the hotel facilities
- Be aware of the location of all emergency exits and fire procedures and assembly area
- Take the necessary steps in the event of theft or burglary or fire
- Liaise with the housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the front area of the hotel and any other areas as requested by the Manager
- Assist in the prompt and efficient service of food and beverage to functions, if requested
- Help develop hotel social media presence such as on Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram
- Work with the hotel manager to grow the MVH domestic market
