Nelson is one of New Zealand’s most historical townships, the area of Stoke is known not only for its legendary brew but also for it’s colonial heritage. Stoke Primary school was founded in 1845 and is New Zealand’s second oldest public school. Holland House itself it estimated to have been built in 1850 but could be older; it is one of the oldest homes in New Zealand and

is certainly the most charming! But if history isn’t so much your thing you will love the peace and quiet afforded by our beautiful home. Whether you wish to go out and explore, or relax and read a book in the garden – the choice is yours. We also offer a guided brewery tour during the day – please click the link for additional information. After a long day of enjoying the Nelson sunshine why not relax in the hot-tub under the stars, or kick back on the sofa and enjoy a local wine or craft beer.

Hi again everyone
What a whirlwind few months it has been but just posting this as potentially our last post. We are sold!!! So happy for the new owners and know they will love and look after Holland House.
We do still plan on having a small bnb - a room in our new house so you will still be able to enjoy Nigel’s sumptuous breakfasts and my endless questions about yourself - just in a different suburb and a different house :)

Hi everyone
So sorry we have not updated in a long while.
It has been a trying year for us - if you were not aware we have been on the market for sale so opted to temporarily close the Bed and Breakfast while we were under offer. We have frustratingly come close on several occasions but after another recent heart breaking disappointment we have decided we cannot continue to put life on hold like this.
We are opening back up the Bed and Breakfast for the Summer in attempt to bring some more joy back into our lives.
So please share to your friends if they are thinking of coming through Nelson - or if you know someone that loves an expertly cooked breakfast :)

When Ciderfest left for Hawkes Bay - John was absolutely sure something would take its place. Turns out he was right!

Sit back and soak up the sun at Nelson Tasman’s newest beer, cider, and food festival.

To anyone of our guests that have had the possible misfortune of hearing John rant about this guy and his Tequila. Here is the story!

Golden Bay is a long way from home for the Agave tequilana plant, a native of Latin America and most commonly found in Mexico. Terry Knight is growing several thousand of the succulents for making top-shelf tequila at his Kiwi spirit distillery at Motupipi.
