Just heard about this on the radio - Abel Tasman National Park Virtual Visitor Centre on your phone, to identify the wildlife around you as you walk. Great idea. You can download their app from the usual places and it's free.

Project Janszoon is a privately funded initiative working in partnership with the Department of Conservation to address the ecological restoration of the Abel Tasman National Park.

We stayed at the Blue Moon for 4 nights after Christmas. In one word: perfect!

Now some more words: The appartment is very spacious and looks even better than on the pictures. You can feel the love in all the great details. The place has a lot of sunlight and with the decorations at the ceiling it looked special and luxirious. We really felt like home :)

It has a big and comfortable bed, a cosy living area, a good equipped kitchenette, a small dining table, a lovely bathroom, a big walk-in warddrobe with plenty of space for all your luggage and a great terrace with lounge chairs, a place to eat and a barbecue (which we used every day). Oh, and the wifi is good and quick, too.

Jane is a very lovely host! She even wrote us in advance that there are 2 concerts nearby which perhaps can get noisy. And asked if we'd like to stay elsewhere. I think that was very nice and altruistic of her. By the way: the concerts are only just after christmas and we didn't mind at all (we even went to one concert and Jane gave us a lift). She is great!

We had a really wonderful, perfect, cosy and amazing stay here. Highly recommendated!

Reviews like these make it all worthwhile :-)

The most cosy and romantic BnB of our stay in NZ. We loved the way Jane has built up the place. I wish we could have spent some more days at this place.

It is also ideally located between Kaiteriteri and Motueka, so if you have things to do at either places you're just a 5 minute drive from either place.

Jane was very helpful from tips on where to eat and things to do in this region.

I am definitely coming back here on my next NZ trip. (December 2014)

Overall, we had an excellent experience at Jane's b&b. The place was truly my dream house. We liked it so much that we picked up dinner and took it back to eat on the back patio. I am going to rip off some of the little touches Jane gave the place when I finally build my dream home. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a bit of rest and relaxation after some time well spent at Abel Tasman National Park. (December 2014)

Our new cycle trail is getting widespread attention already... make sure you come and enjoy it before it gets too busy! It goes right past our door and you can hire bikes easily in town, or for a small fee you can also arrange them from Wheelie Fantastic in Mapua (https://www.facebook.com/WheelieFantastic)
