“I don’t normally leave reviews but Aura is deserving of praise. What an adorable little hotel with a community atmosphere.

“The check-in area is packed with cute hand-drawn information about what to do in the area, staff recommendations, and even an updated daily weather board.

“Beautiful location right on the lake with Eat Street two blocks away so plenty of options for dinner and breakfast.

“Our room was comfortable, with the geo-thermal radiator keeping us warm when we visited in July. Given the natural smells of this geologically active town, you wouldn’t think the tap water would be good, but it was delicious, as advertised.

“Staff were friendly and greeted us the morning after we checked in to make sure check-in went smoothly.

“A great place to stay that seems very 'local' and connected to the city around it.”

Thank you, Ryan, for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay!

Sustainability isn't something we do on the side, it's built into the way we operate every day. 🌿

From geothermal heating and solar energy to composting, waste-reduction initiatives, choosing local suppliers, and supporting Rotorua community organisations, we're always looking for ways to tread a little lighter.

Small changes add up, and we're proud to be continually improving how we care for our people, our community, and our environment.

At Aura, we love helping create memorable family experiences.

Here’s what Kate had to say about her time with us:

“We had a great stay at Aura! The grounds were amazing for kids with a pool, trampoline, and a great park close by. The staff were very helpful in suggesting things to see and do and places to eat. The room was clean and well stocked. Local coffee was provided and much appreciated! I love their approach to sustainable and environmentally friendly travel.”

Thank you for sharing your experience, Kate. We’re so glad you appreciated all the things we do to make our guests' stays special.
