Christmas is around the corner and our little city is beginning to bustle! There are plenty of activities that would tickle anyone’s interest. Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park & Kiwi Encounter have a fantastic special where kids go free over the holidays! If adventure is more your thing then you can always go rafting down the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world, with Kaituna Cascades. The redwoods are always a hit for walkers and mountain bikers alike! If you are looking for something that includes a bit of culture then Mitai Maori Village - Rotorua New Zealand might be the activity for you. Enjoy a cultural performance with a traditionally cooked, Maori hangi meal along with a bush walk where you can spot some glow worms. Either way, finish your day in one of our three thermal hot pools with a walk through some native bush on our park to watch the sun set over Mount Ngongotaha at our hot water beach. We are proud to say that we are the new managers at Cosy Cottage Thermal Holiday Park. We have been at our new post for nearly 3 months and it’s about time we start letting you know of what’s going on around the place!

Tessie is our beloved Labrador and you will find her out and about with us around the park. She loves a good pat and is not shy to say hello.

We thought it would be a good idea to let you know that our park is dog friendly, by prior arrangement, and there are a few rules that even Tessie can’t get away with! So don’t be afraid to ask if your extended family member would be welcome, we would be happy to let you know the rules so you can fit right in!

Being a dog owner is not always easy and just like children, they too need to be entertained and kept busy. We have learnt the ropes ourselves and are delighted to point out places where your dog could run free while you get to enjoy your surroundings. Have a look at Tessie having a ball, we can guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Sorry everyone - been a long time and I have only just replied to our lovely reviews. Thank you-we love the feedback and there are more great and exciting changes happening to our park in preparation for the peak season!

Foggy in Rotorua this morning-but overall NZ our winter temperatures are pretty mild so far, no major frosts!! Tourists are still flocking in to see what a wonderful country we have!

We are still enjoying beautiful weather here in Rotorua -make the most of the weekends people and come camp at Cosy Cottage Holiday Park, walking distance to the city and lakefront. you can take in a scenic walk covering a living Maori Village, geothermal parks and the tremendous redwoods.
