There’s a moment, just after dark, when everything slows down…
and then you hear it.

The call of the ruru — one of NZ’s most iconic native birds.

If you’ve heard it, you know.

Spending time outdoors in natural light and gentle movement is one of the simplest ways to support mood and sleep rhythms — even small moments count.

Natural light exposure supports healthy circadian rhythms, which are closely linked to sleep quality and how balanced and steady our mood feels across the day. When our circadian rhythms are well aligned, the body is better able to regulate energy, rest, and emotional response.

Gentle physical movement outdoors also supports the release of endorphins — natural chemicals in the body that are associated with improved mood and a greater sense of wellbeing.

This year, we took an important step in our sustainability journey by measuring our carbon footprint.

Why does that matter?

Because understanding where our impact comes from helps us make smarter decisions about how we operate — from energy use and waste, to the products and services we purchase.

Sustainability isn’t just about the things guests can see. Often, the biggest changes happen behind the scenes.

Measuring our footprint is helping us focus on the areas where we can make the greatest difference as we continue working towards a more sustainable future.
