Red guava (thanks Helen!) to make guava jelly, the divine ruler of all fruit jellies.
Guava jelly was something my late grandmother would make and it brings back pleasant memories of her, walking up the back porch through the fragrance of her hothouse flowers.

Is there anything easier than basil pesto?
The hardest part is growing the basil!
This year we included macadamia nuts from a friends tree. Wow, we'll be making it this way again... yum!!

Our pesto recipe:
Fresh Basil
several garlic cloves
New Zealand sea salt
extra virgin olive oil
Macadamia nuts.

Recipe for our muesli:750 g rolled oats750 g quick oats1/2 cup each of long thread coconut, oat bran, pumpkin seeds, sun...

Recipe for our muesli:
750 g rolled oats
750 g quick oats
1/2 cup each of long thread coconut, oat bran, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chopped raw almonds
2/3 cup puffed millet
1 teaspoon each cinnamon, pure vanilla
6 tablespoons manuka honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup grapeseed oil

Gently heat oil, sugar, honey and vanilla
Pour over all dry ingred in roasting pan
Mix all well
Heat oven to 150.C and put muesli on centre shelf
Set timer to 30 mins and toss mixture when partly toasted. Set timer for another 30 mins and toss again
Leave mix in oven for another 30 mins with oven turned off.
