And the best news is out............
New Family Takes the Helm at Te Wera Valley Lodge
A new chapter has begun for one of Taranaki's best-loved outdoor education and recreation venues, with Phillip and Shiloh and their young family stepping into the role of managers at Te Wera Valley Lodge.
Located on Ohura Road, just a short drive from Stratford, Te Wera Valley Lodge has welcomed thousands of school children, community groups, campers, tenter's, churches, sports clubs and families over the years. The lodge has built a reputation as a place where people can disconnect from busy lives, reconnect with nature, and create lifelong memories.
For Phillip and Shiloh, the move is about more than simply managing a campground—it's about becoming part of the Te Wera community and helping preserve a place that has meant so much to so many.
"We're incredibly eager to get stuck-in" they said. "Te Wera Valley Lodge holds a special place in the hearts of so many, including ourselves. It's a place where people of all ages and all walks of life forge friendships, form lifelong memories and discover the natural beauty of Eastern Taranaki."
Joining them are their three young children, making the lodge a true family-run operation. Their enthusiasm, energy and welcoming nature are already helping visitors feel at home.
The Te Wera Valley Lodge Trust says it is thrilled to welcome the family and looks forward to working alongside them as they continue to develop the lodge for future generations.
The lodge offers accommodation for school camps, youth organisations, church retreats, conferences, family reunions and community events. Surrounded by native bush and the stunning landscape of the Te Wera Valley, it provides the perfect setting for outdoor learning, team building and relaxation.
As bookings continue to grow, the new managers are eager to welcome familiar faces back and meeting many new ones along the way.
"We want people to know that the gates are open and everyone is welcome. Whether you've been coming here for years or have never visited before, we can't wait to host you at Te Wera Valley Lodge. As the new camp managers, we feel incredibly privileged to be part of this special place. We're committed to honouring the history and memories that have been created here while adding our own touch and helping carry Te Wera Valley Lodge into its next chapter."
The Trust also acknowledged the volunteers and supporters who have dedicated countless hours to maintaining and improving the facility over the years.
With a passionate new family at the helm and strong community support behind them, the future is looking bright for Te Wera Valley Lodge.
