Tairua Campground are super proud to get behind Pest Free Tairua by sponsoring their 50th automatically-resetting trap. This was installed on Paku and we’re exciting to see the mission of Pest Free Paku by 2027 come to light.

Massive thanks to all the volunteers behind this, including Steve Denby for all the donated work and materials he provides when labelling traps with the sponsors’ names!

Tairua Pauanui Sports Fishing Club’s Kids Day on the Wharf is happening this Saturday, 27 December!

This year they’ve expanded to FOUR wharfs, Tairua, Paku, Pauanui & Pauanui WaterwaysI.

t’s a fun, safe, and action-packed morning designed to get kids out on the water, learning, laughing, and having a crack at fishing.

• Registration from 8:00am (at the wharfs)
• Fishing from 9:00am – 12:00pm
• Prizegiving & FREE sausage sizzle at the clubrooms from 1:00pm
• $2 entry Multiple age categories
• Prizes including one for the most unusual catch

We hosted a “let’s get together before it gets nuts around here” shared BBQ here at camp yesterday evening with a bunch of local good sorts (and a few lucky campers). It was such a good vibe! We’re definitely going to make this an annual event.
