Over the past few months, we have busy doing upgrades to our motel, and the beautiful garden is one of those upgrades! The gorgeous hedges are starting to bloom up along the fenceline, creating a more welcoming approach with a easier upkeep for us all which is a win win in our books 😃
During winter we will also be performing other upgrades to our motel such as painting some of the exterior to give this old reliable girl a new lease on life. Performing these maintenance tasks helps us ensure that our motel will last for many more years to come, therefore ensuring our guests will always have somewhere warm, comfortable and inviting to stay 🍁🌺

Experienced Casual Housekeeper Wanted – 3 Star Motel

We are looking for an experienced casual/on-call housekeeper to join our motel team.

The successful applicant must have:
• Previous housekeeping experience in accommodation or motel environments
• Experience with triple sheeting
• High cleaning standards and attention to detail
• Reliability and the ability to work efficiently unsupervised
• Flexibility to fill in at short notice when required

This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours, so flexibility and availability are essential.

If you are hardworking, dependable, and experienced in motel housekeeping, we would love to hear from you.

With the cost of fuel remaining uncertain, people are turning more towards electric vehicles and the efficiency they offer. We are pleased to promote that we have onsite, a slow feed EV charging station, that will fit and charge most vehicles while you stay with us overnight. For a small surcharge, you can rest assured that your vehicle will remain topped up and ready to roll for your next adventure.
Please note that bookings are required along with prepayment to secure use of our EV charger

Last week we had another surprise celebrity come and join us with his crew for an overnight stay in the Nui 🤩Those of you who are young enough to remember Mr Bill Hohepa...fisherman extraordinaire, multi-talented, all-round good kiwi bloke! He is currently doing short snippets around NZ for his upcoming movie A Fishfull of Dollars

How exciting...we are now proudly registered to prepare and serve up delicious, home cooked meals for our corporate guests who just want to check in and relax, without the hassle of having to eat out 😊 If you are lucky enough to be one of our corporate or trucking customers, why not give us a call and see how we can cater for you and your staff while staying at our motel.

We certainly get spoiled with some of the most amazing guests choosing to stay with us here in Taumarunui. This week we had the pleasure of hosting the NZ Military Vehicle Convoy Club grace us with these beautiful vehicles...some of which are older than our motel!! With the club convoying the North Island, we will be seeing them again this weekend as they make their way back up the North Island to complete their yearly tour 😍

How lucky are we!! We had the pleasure of hosting Colin and Manu this week and their little caravan Betty 😍 Speaking with them both, they talked of their travels throughout the Ruapehu District, and the great fishing out Owhango along with the beautiful spots at Whakapapa. Pity the weather wasn't very well behaved, but they enjoyed the local dining and scenery. Travel safe guys

CASUAL HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED...We are currently on the hunt for a casual housekeeper to see us through the remaining busy season here in Taumarunui. Hours will be varied, and will be on a on-call, casual basis only, depending on how busy the motel is.
We are seeking someone who is reliable, trustworthy and excels at great cleanliness. You must have previous experience with triple sheeting and cleaning in a motel setting as we require someone to hit the ground running 🙂If this sounds like you, please send your CV to [email protected].
