After the massive week here in Taumarunui, we would like to make a shoutout to the teams at both Taumarunui Plumbing and King Country Glass for the massive efforts, sleepless nights and amazing mahi from their teams, throughout our region. Helping not just ourselves, but the entire community, with the clean up after the Earthquake and more recently the Fire. To all the other businesses and the RDC we would also like to extend our most sincere thanks for all of your awhi and tautoko in what has to be one of Taumarunui's most hectic weeks for 2026.

Experienced Casual Housekeeper Wanted – 3 Star Motel
We are looking for an experienced casual/on-call housekeeper to join our motel team.
The successful applicant must have:
• Previous housekeeping experience in accommodation or motel environments
• Experience with triple sheeting
• High cleaning standards and attention to detail
• Reliability and the ability to work efficiently unsupervised
• Flexibility to fill in at short notice when required
This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours, so flexibility and availability are essential.
If you are hardworking, dependable, and experienced in motel housekeeping, we would love to hear from you.

Over the past few months, we have busy doing upgrades to our motel, and the beautiful garden is one of those upgrades! The gorgeous hedges are starting to bloom up along the fenceline, creating a more welcoming approach with a easier upkeep for us all which is a win win in our books 😃
During winter we will also be performing other upgrades to our motel such as painting some of the exterior to give this old reliable girl a new lease on life. Performing these maintenance tasks helps us ensure that our motel will last for many more years to come, therefore ensuring our guests will always have somewhere warm, comfortable and inviting to stay 🍁🌺
