Welcome to the official page of Tauhara Moana Trust.
Tauhara Moana Trust is an Ahu Whenua Trust that manages 715.305 hectares of whenua located on Broadlands Road, Taupō, on behalf of 2,817 owners. Our role is to protect, manage, and grow our whenua and assets in a way that honours our whakapapa and supports present and future generations.
Our kaupapa is grounded in kaitiakitanga — guardianship of the whenua — and guided by the principle:
“Manaaki whenua, manaaki tangata, haere whakamua.”
Care for the land, care for the people, go forward.
🌱 What we do
The Trust has three main areas of business:
Dairy farming
Geothermal opportunities
Forestry
These activities support:
Kaumātua grants and owner distributions
Ongoing care and maintenance of the whenua
Sustainable farming operations
Future investment and intergenerational wellbeing
